We definitely missed some bigger returns as the precip pushed ahead of the front. I think we get an inch or two if this holds. I'll take it for Christmas!

Bounced up by about an inch in TRI valley locations. Not sure it gets that good, but never hurts to see a model go "up" at the last minute. Future runs will likely be less as it is snowing now. 1
Dsty2001
Honestly, this reminds me of some of the high ratio snow i dealt with up north, wouldn't be surprised if totals are a bit more than we expect

Holston_River_Rambler
It is such a cold/dry airmass, I was wondering how well those models progs would verify. I will take fine flakes!
John1122
HRRR and RAP likes a little band over Cumberland, Fentress and Morgan co. Shows 2-4 more inches there by tomorrow. These bands will be high ratio and should stack up overnight to the tune of an inch or two at least if anyone can get them to train over your back yard. It's currently 23 here and I'm sure will will fall into the 10s as these bands rotate through over night. HRRR even has my area getting another 1 to 1.5 inches. WVLT even had a secondary snow spike tomorrow evening around 4 in Knoxville. They have a it 20 percent snow during the day then 40 in the afternoon. He seems to use the HRRR himself. Or their house model is based on it.
BlunderStorm
HRRR goes off the deep end in terms of morning lows casually starting my Christmas morning at -1F. Not really substantive but I got a laugh out of it. 1
