SW VA nice increase on the 12k. MRX will need to issue an update to reflect the lowered 3k NAM totals. 2

In all seriousness, the interesting thing is that the 12z Euro went up. Will be interesting to see how this all verifies. When the Euro is upping totals right up until the event...not a bad thing most times.

AFranklin88
Is it possible for the NW flow to catch the trailing edge of precip from low to enhance snow showers for time period? Doesn’t look like it’s far off. Sorry if dumb question - enjoy the knowledge you all share .
Carvers Gap
TRI crew...looks like the 21z HRRR has bumped our totals. 18z RGEM was excellent as well. Ice and snow being wind driven currently between 20-30mph.

I do think the mechanism that is generating the NW flow is the upper low and the lift that it creates in front of it is what's generating the snows currently over eastern areas. I suspect it's one or the other. Not a dumb question at all.

MattPetrulli
Very heavy snow and windy with 1/4-1/2 visibility for the past hour and a half. Probably the closest we'll get to blizzard conditions for the next century
