ShawnEastTN
That front is pretty impressive, temperature swing of 30 degrees across a relative short distance Oklahoma City to Little Rock.Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

anonymous1968
So, we are traveling from to and from Bluefield from Kingsport tomorrow. What time should we be back home and off the roads?

So, 12z seems to be the outlier for that model during the past couple of days. Wonder if it is its progressive nature? Other modeling seems to be fairly settled. It comes down to the 700mb moisture...GFS is the driest, while RGEM keeps the 700 saturated..everyone else is in the middle

John1122
MRX has me at an 80 percent chance at more than an inch of snow, puts out a forecast map showing me with 1/2 inch. It does crack me up that the night shift always ups totals and day shift always lowers them.

What time should we be back home and off the roads? You'll probably want to leave in the early to mid morning just to be safe as it will probably rain heavily throughout the whole trip. I would recommend not being out any later than 3 PM. As you will be driving west towards the approaching front heading back.

Carvers Gap
18z Euro **edit**. Decent uptick in accumulations and increase in amounts along the western edge of 12z accumulations. 7

John1122
The Euro hopefully has a few more westward creeps in it. Was it faster cold or a bigger precip shield?

Holston_River_Rambler
My 18z Euro is still only out to hr 21 with winter panels, but here is the 3 hr precip from hour 24, when it looks like mostly changed over:

Was it faster cold or a bigger precip shield? Looks like it is a bit slower, between hour 27 and 30 the line hits the valley and backs/slows down and precip depeens over the eastern valley. Overall, the line just looked a bit more robust. Lee side low drops to 999 vs 1001.

Carvers Gap
18z Euro basically shifts the entire precip axis back west maybe 75 miles...even in Ohio.

If you take the Euro for the initial LP and combine it with the features with the banding/NW flow shown on the meso models (Global models aren't the best at those).
