andyhb
Somehow that band has actually widened and intensified in the past 60-90 mins on radar. Just incredible frontogenetic forcing with great vertical velocities in the DGZ intersecting with a nearly ideal temperature profile for big rates.

The backside of that storm was a well aligned nw flow with loads of moisture. Tough to argue it didn’t with that track, temps, and unfrozen lake. And a snowmap like this. Not well it appears. I think it had something like this over CPA.

Rochester stopped snowing at like 2am as the wind shifted NW. Syracuse continued to have mode snow until like 10am the next morning. Hours after every other station had ceased to report snow.
