HRRR has the best handle on it and it's even two/three degrees too warm IMBY. Bring on some sleet/ice. +SN right now. Rippage. Saw the same in Stafford - enjoy it... 09-10 analogy
Yeah it seems very much rate dependent. Moderate snow, as it is now, and no pinging. Light snow, a coupla pingers.
IceCAPS
Tons of very large "fatties" falling now. I'm now worried this is the start of a transition to sleet but could simply be much heavier snow. Still holding at 30 degrees, likely inching up. Damn it! That would be much better than anything we saw on the models yesterday. I'm further into SE and its definitely steady here. Snow is very icy in texture. Car went down the street and pieces flew around the tires. Still right at freezing.

DDweatherman
Lots of folks gotta love the HRRR for this afternoon. Basically 1-2” an hour rates north of the beltway into C MD and NW. fronto is increasing in the area and the low is starting to deepen off the NC/SC coast.

Maestrobjwa
Very nice scenery snow here as we hold right at 32...street caving a bit as well! Love it yet slightly annoyed seeing what this could've been in a better setup! But that's okay...looking ahead to positive trends in the LR! In the meantime...I'll still enjoy the scenery while it's hear as I listen to Beethoven on his 250th...all day!
