ErinInTheSky
Something looks to have formed just to my west here in Germantown. Maybe another snow band. Would be nice to squeeze an extra 1" out of this.

Maybe that is a good sign for the band later for you MD guys. Banding popping overhead in carroll county as we speak. It’s purdy out there. Chris78
Moderate snow. Picked up another inch since switching back to snow Up to 7" of snow/sleet now. I've surpassed my seasonal total of last year. Had to go back to last season's snow totals thread to check. I only had 5.5 last year.

MountainGeek
made it to 10" here, still snowing pretty good...it's a sandwich of about 7" snow, 1" hard crust of frozen sleet/ice, and then 2" of snow on top.....this is going to make an AWESOME glacier for the next few days. Wonder if snowcover can hold through Christmas......

PhineasC
Some flakes mixing in. There is sleet all the way into NW NJ in this garbage storm, FYI. So those who get to double digits are very lucky indeed!

Zdudswx
Got to see extremely heavy snowfall in December after almost 2 years of barely seeing snow at all. Pretty pleased with how today turned out considering our climo and barely any cold air in place. Hopefully a precursor for a somewhat active winter

NorthArlington101
Was hoping this last tiny band might squeeze out a couple snowflakes. Looks like it’s sleet. Oh well - managed to start and end the event with frozen. Much better than the total disaster scenario.
psuhoffman
I can't get an accurate measurement on the new stuff...wind is howling up on my ridge...blowing everything around. I would guess around 9" total so far. @HighStakes I am going to go with your measurement for the post sleet part of this storm...the wind up here is just too ferocious to get any kind of accurate measure. You might be more sheltered down there to get a better idea. Also...if we can get that band forming now to our SW to pivot through here in the next 2 hours we might break 10". Definitely a good way to start the year.

I see the band. 7 inches with afternoon snow, then about an inch of sleet/snow mix and then about 1.5 so far of snow on top of that. Total 9.5 as of now.
