PhineasC
Everyone south of the far northern MD tier better hope this storm doesn't become dependent on backlash snow after hours of heavy rain to work out... that will be a fail.

I guess it's all about expectations. Had this not been showing such big potential for days on end with big totals hanging around, 6-10 or whatever would sound amazing for December. But that run almost cut my recent GFS run totals in half. 6-10 is amazing for December

NorthArlington101
Not shocked to the see the meh reception to the CMC from those outside the uber-favored areas but that is a cold run at the surface. I'll take my chances with wintry soup at 29. Don't even think DCA breaches 32 verbatim.

Don't look now, but ANOTHER weather system is gonna smash into y'all later, as a storm passes off the NC Coast later this week. This will be a snowy FRIGID Winter long remembered throughout the Washington DC Metropolitan region! The Reaper is definitely gonna retire. He's gonna be fresh out of work. There's going to be way too much snow, for him to even have a hope of Reapin' anyone. 4

On TT---the 72 map looks like this when it shows qpf. but then One is avg precip rate over the previous 6 hours and the other is instantaneous rate (or like a radar depiction). PhineasC
This is not a freezing rain event, folks. Models may be spitting that out, but it isn't happening.
nj2va
I’m not just saying this because it shows less snow but I just don’t think its that great of a model. I’m sure someone who is smarter/follows its performance more closely can comment, but I never get the “Euro will follow the UK” since it seems that rarely happens.
