Geoboy645
I say now we are up to 4-5" of snow out htere. The snow is wet, but not cement. I do feel like if we had a cold ground and pavement from the beginning we would defintely have another inch or two on the ground. Overall though a pretty nice storm to really start off the winter.

hlcater
Measured 3.5" in downtown IC. Assuming that's compacted some, we probably saw 4" overnight. Pleasantly surprised. Family measured 3.7" in Hiawatha earlier this morning

cyclone77
Had almost 2" of snow at work, got home just now and the ground is completely bare. It ripped at work with large flakes for a good hour. Finished with 1.08" of rain.
cyclone77
I see there was a 5" report just south of the QC, wow! I'm guessing the areas that saw accumulation had a period of large flakes to develop a quick base on which to accumulate. The areas that didn't have that saw little or no accum. Geoboy645
Around here we finished up with 5-6" of snow. It was a pretty nice first snowstorm, not too much to write home about. At least it looks like December for a few days.
madwx
we definitely got a localized jackpot here. 6" at my place and between 6-9 throughout the county. MSN jackpot from 2007 is back baby. 1

Yeah, IMBY I had 2.08” of rain and maybe 12 flakes at the end but still waiting for first measurable snow of the season.

Yea. I don't think it was a situation where there was a deep warm intrusion aloft as there was not much in the way of sleet or mixed precip anywhere. The lowest km or so just needed to be a few degrees colder and it would have been a very significant dumping. I was holding out hope that the models might be wrong but no such luck. Perhaps if the same pattern had occurred later in the winter with an established cold boundary layer in place. I remember March 2, 2002 was a decent surprise wet dump of snow.

MIstorm97
Ended up with around 5" at my family's cottage/2nd house WSW of Baldwin, MI. Conditions were more intense up by Cadillac where 8-9" had fallen. I took some video between Baldwin and Cadillac on Saturday. Was nice to spend the weekend up north in the snow while downstate was watching the rain again.
