TalcottWx
Phin's location is a great addition to the board. We all know it snows a ton there, but it's an opportunity to learn more about that area. I don't know as much as I would like. 1

I always ask here though because about half either dont report or dont make it to the PNS statement, plus i want to make sure its the latest updated amount. Sometimes they have slightly older numbers and not the final amount in the PNS. I'm assuming the 6.0" was yours from Tolland. That is the final right? Looks like the highest in CT was from Union at 10" Trace here.

Could be more...Alex in the other side of the mountains looked like he did pretty well too though prob a bit less. Our N ORH county posters had 10-12...I measured just shy of 10” on winter hill on the north side of ORH. Back in Holliston we had about 4 inches of the densest/wettest snow I’ve seen. Randy/Zwyts chasing in eustis Maine prob had over a foot.
tamarack
Had 1.5" of 9:1 snow (almost powder ) overnight, so storm total is 6.0" with 1.38" LE, plus the 0.10" RA at the start. Oddly there's more in the driveway, 5"+, than at the stake, 4". No drifting at all, just chunks blowing out of the trees which didn't impact either spot.

Should be there by 9am. Lets see how high i can get as the base probably did well but ratio's probably increased with elevation.

You can tell it was paste at some point by how it’s stuck to the cars. Arctic pow and that wind the cars are probably cleaned off lol. Perfect right side up snowfall for the skiers up there. Seems many in Maine Got tons of liquid but Missed warning snows by being about 500 feet Too low elevation . Just wondering what someone with another 500-800” elevation would have seen In interior SW Maine . We were trying to tease out elevation from people when they called, but there aren't many people like Gene who know their elevation and all their neighbors elevations too. But I think it's clear that played a big role when you look at our office total vs up on Lava Rock.

I wonder if you guys were sucking exhaust maybe? It seemed like anybody downwind of high terrain didn’t do well. I saw the signal at Winni and purposely did not go there. I knew it would suck there despite my son begging me lol. Being downwind of high terrain in a marginal airmass can suck.

Because of how they are generated, you rarely end up seeing more snow than they spit out.

I feel like we take the over on those too in a cold atmosphere... “ratios will be better than 10:1 so take the over on the snow maps”. I just think they in general show too wide a swath of heavy snows in almost every storm too... large swaths of heavy snow often tighten up in reality.
