By and large, most people seem to be back in normal socializing mode. I was invited out by a couple different groups tonight. I think you can guess my feelings on that without too much trouble so I won't get into it, but Saturday night is alive and well.

Thank you for doing your part.

The top of the bluffs on the east end of Sunken Meadow look like that in places.  The bluff top trail is alternating between blown bare and deep drifts.  Some of the drifts are covered in a layer of blown sand that looks just like that.  I did a 6 mile hike around  various areas of the park this evening, half of it in the dark with a headlamp.

The headlamp part was the best.  There was no one else out, the wind had died and the snow was freezing up and getting quite supportive: https://www.facebook.com/MyMountainFamily/posts/2377036792420117

Yeah, these SAL intrusions have become stronger in recent years.

Wow that sux. Sure it will get covered back up for the winter but when it starts to melt in the spring and all the sand floats to the top it will accelerate the melt dramatically. That means floods in the spring and low water levels in the late summer and fall because the melt wasn't spread out enough.
