Blizzard of 93 Posted January 1, 2021 Share Posted January 1, 2021 This was never our storm today. In my opinion, Ice is miserable and just causes trouble on the roads & sidewalks. Agreed but just to have a touch of wintry weather makes me happy for the start of 2021! Outside of that it can turn to rain for us to capitalize a bit on Sunday and more later in the week! MAG5035 Posted January 1, 2021 Author Share Posted January 1, 2021 Have had some sleet occasionally but all freezing rain currently. Starting to be pretty noticeable on the trees. It took a while to begin to accrue, however now with the sun's effects gone my trees have all been rapidly ice-ing up. Liquid wise I have about 0.2" for the entire event so far. Ice accrual-wise I now have between 0.05" and 0.10". This is more than NWS forecasted for me with this morning's update. Last night they had two periods where up to 0.10" of ice could accrue. My temperature has been around 31.3 to 31.5 the entire event. Right now I'm at 31.6 degrees with steady light freezing rain to almost moderate. Just bought my wife the same thing for Christmas - I buy her iPhone's specifically for the camera as she loves to take pictures while we're walking. You took some great pics with a great phone. It has a slow moving system thanks to the blocking in place thanks to the -NAO and a perfectly positioned High to the north that is parked over Quebec.
