Seems like n of the turnpike 1-3" deal. Keeps trending colder though as we get closer and with fresh snowpack, could trend to a nice primer before the main show Weds-Thurs.

The Iceman
Rgem for tonight into tomorrow am. N and W burbs may cash in on 1-3". Nam is much further north and gets warm air further north... May be too warm though imo will be interesting to see if we can get a nice little surprise again.
Ralph Wiggum
GFS has a cold bias in the MR and LR that corrects itself as lead times lessen correct? Not asking for a friend. 12z is a weenie run. I counted 7 legit threats in the run.
RedSky
Dr No and GFS have been rock solid consistent keeping the >1" snow line ten miles to my north the last 24 hours, arggg.
RedSky
12z Dr No also consistent keeping this weeks wave #2 south of SEPA, also annoying. I hate having to count on wave#4(sunday) to get snow.

How many times this year has the MA crew been in the jackpot zone this far out only to have us steal their snow in the last 48hrs?

We cash in on one of these waves at least. Need to keep expectation low still. I dont care that the pattern is screaming, the PV is close, the groundhog took a dump on the 12z Euro, etc. Throw enough chances our way, we will cash in eventually. But keep in mind, we could (in a perfect scenario) muck this whole period up and be on the wrong side of these systems. There is alot of upside, but keep those expectations low. First things first....Wed night and Thursday (I dont think tomorrow does it for anyone S of I 78).

Just saw the Euro. Suppression City, USA. These never nudge North....ever. Especially with a SER starting to gently percolate under a mid Feb Nina sun. Ralph Wiggum
It is a flat ridge, but its there. It was supposed to be raging with the Nina. But we luckily have had the -NAM state working for us to counter it. If the ridge was non-existent we would be congratulating NC/SC. But as we've seen countless times recently, there is a battle going on between the -NAO and that SER reflection. And subsequently every system has come N. I personally don't buy the squashed look on the Euro. Not suggesting every wave comes N and flush hits us....but I am anxious to see the battle that ensues in the atmosphere over the next 10 days between those features I mentioned.
