Chambana
How horrible have things been here locally you might ask? Today is the first time that more than a T has been on the ground since FEBRUARY 27. 1

IWXwx
I ended up with 1.6" locally, with accumulations ending shortly after noon. The trough has continued to produce mood flakes all afternoon and look to continue overnight which may allow a few more tenths to accumulate.

cyclone77
Not in this sub, but some extreme rippage going on right now out east. One report near Binghamton NY had 4.5" in the past hour, and another had 5.5". Extremely impressive especially for it coming from system snow and not LES. 1
michsnowfreak
picked up 1.5" of sugar snow. Still snowing so may grind out more. Its the kind of snow that literally has the look and consistency of sugar. no fluff factor. Regardless it made for a beautiful evening last night for Holiday nights at Greenfield village. Driving sugar snow plus breathing thru a mask, not a great time to wear glasses

MIstorm97
Picked up 1.9” so far with a band of light snow lingering over. Probably should eek out just over 2”. Took some video yesterday when things picked back up in the evening. Itching to get an amped up snowstorm now after watching what’s gone on along the E coast and inland
michsnowfreak
Damn I wish I was in Binghamton. Here light snow has now been falling for 29 hours and counting lol. Just over 2" in total though it is the classic Christmas "mood snow" like they show on every movie ever invented that takes place during Christmas. MIstorm97
Well the snow started picking up mid afternoon, and then we got into a solid moderate snow band that has dropped an inch in two hours. I’m at 1.6” for the day so far. Nice surprise
LansingWeather
This is a bit OT but the new "updated" radar for weather.gov sucks. Why on Earth did they get rid of the nice radar? What do you guys think about the storm coming in around Christmas Eve?

Why on Earth did they get rid of the nice radar? Yes it does. Who decided that was a good idea? Good thing I've used GR Level 3 almost exclusively since I got it, Radarscope (on my phone), or COD website (when on a public/shared device that doesn't have either of the aforementioned applications). michsnowfreak
Continued snowing beautifully all day today. I think it's finally ending. Over the last 2 days we have grinded and I mean grinded out 3.1" of snow total. Seaaon at 9.3" to date. Nevertheless it has been a snow globe and it was beautiful and I just love looking at the Christmas decorations in fresh snow.
MIstorm97
Added an additional 0.3” for a total of 1.9” yesterday. The final event total ended up being 3.7” here. Truly grinded out every last flake over 42 hours. Here’s some more video from yesterday

Side note this December looks and feels way different then last year to me. Last year we were mountain biking December 23rd, this year it’s been chilly and we’ve had enough snow to make it definitely feel like December to me. I saw 17 degrees this morning and some really think freezing fog also. Last weekend while up north it was a awesome winter weekend also.
WestMichigan
You can't even make this stuff up anymore. 12Z NAM (I don't really think it will play out like this, but it is too funny to pass up.) Guess where I live???
