Between Covid restrictions and lack of snow, it is a literal ghost town around the area.

Despite no real cold, lakes locally are frozen(a month late), and I've been able to do some fishing on a pond with about 2" of ice.

Drastic difference between today and around the same time last year.

More like a drastic difference than just 6 weeks ago. :)

It is pretty great over here today... about 60º here with mid 60s just sw, plus sun and no wind.

Yeah today was fantastic.  MLI set a new record high of 62 today beating the old one of 60.  Hit 59 here.  Took the opportunity to plant one more tree (willow oak).

Euro showing an extremely cold air mass in western Canada...but it just sits there.  These are anomalies in C...some places are 25C (45F) below normal.  You'd think this would be a good sign, to see this cold building in Canada...but then the entire US torches...especially beyond Day 7.  It's a joke.  No pattern is good...it's like the US can't have winter anymore.

that is a huge change from the warmth that flooded Canada. the cold building in Canada IS a good sign for down the road.

Possibly, but the Euro also depicts the flow going zonal after mid-week and floods us with Pacific air, keeping the cold bottled up. It does hint at a wave crashing ashore at the end of the run. Could it be something to look forward to just in time for Christmas or just another rainer? :santa:

Glad you've come to grips with punting December, for your own sanity.  But some of us haven't. :(

Heck, I'm still furious about the first 10 days of December...and would still be furious even if things got better tomorrow.  December is a winter month; it should not be ok to waste it. Sure, maybe January will be ok...but who really cares at this point?  What consolation is that? :grinch:

Unfortunately the extended looked terrible for December so honestly I punted it a while ago.  December actually started as a Winter wonderland here with over 4" of snow, however a little over 4 days later it was gone and it has been zzzz ever since

The WAA overperformed yesterday as we lit up a 60°, only three degrees off of the record set back in 1931, which seems like low hanging fruit for Dec. 11th.

We picked  up about an inch of rain overnight and the front is passing through which will usher in a boring dry period with seasonable temps. Guess I'll have to park in the Covid thread and rant.
