Thinksnow18 Posted December 4, 2020 Share Posted December 4, 2020 I’m not believing anything at this point. These LR models are all over the map. They are cold one day and warm the next. GEFS shows cold then warm and EPS does same flip. Honestly it’s getting tiring. I know one thing is cold winters like we were used to are over going forward. That is a pretty massive increase in temps in such a short time. Snowfall averages will eventually start to decrease over time, as we already have seen with what wolfie posted. Feb-March are usually warmer then average in Ninas. Too far away from a real city to entice me. That's why I like Buffalo so much. There are shows/events going on at all times throughout the year, an explosion of things to do in recent years compared to 10-15 years ago. Pegula saved the downtown area. If I want nature I just drive 15-20 minutes to the hills. I hope you are right, but most of the reports I am reading make it sound like January could be our only real shot and February will torch. Even with that being said, I'm heading up to the ADK to check out a rental for the month of February. Populated and alot of snow every winter. Oswego city doesn’t get a ton of snow. Nor does the SUNY Oswego campus. To get into the bigger snow you need to move inland by several miles to Hannibal, Fulton or Mexico. Not nearly the stuff they see on the hill but they are semi populated. Was living in West Seneca and we got close to 20” if I remember correctly after missing out on the band just to my south over the Stadium for hours. Ahhh good lake effect storms, don’t even remember what those are anymore. Yeah I was saying this to my wife earlier. It’s now the norm to have longer stretches of grass on the cold months than it used to be. Seems like just 10 years ago it was quite the opposite. You’d have 5 or 6 days with snowpack, a warmup, melting but then the snowpack was right back for 5 to 7 more days... now we have snow for a day or two and 7 to 10 days of bare ground...welcome to our new normal. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
