jaydreb
If things play out the way the GFS depicts, the Panic Room will be overbooked by mid-December. It’s just a slew of juiced up rain bombs for us.

Arctic Octopus
It looks like it's a matter of how the models treat the following NS and SS waves following the Saturday event? GFS has the NS wave as stronger which pulls everything North and keeps it pretty progressive. The ECMWF has the SS as stronger and pulls the merger south and along with it a decent amount of cold air. Then a second NS wave is able to come in and take advantage of the cold air mass. ETA: It looks like the CMC does the same thing as the ECMWF except that second NS wave doesn't get quite as far south. Maestrobjwa
Now not reaching to this modeling specifically, but in general...in ninas, what has to happen to make a southern and/or east-northeast miss less likely?
NorthArlington101
12Z EPS show several members with flurries for Monday if I squint hard enough.Control has it, which tends to be a good sign. Only gets a trace DC-north but we love a good north trend. 1” line goes E-W through Charlottesville.

I think if we cash we would need a situation where the northern stream races ahead and lays down some fresh cold air with a light rain event for a follow up wave. Can get a solid hit with an active pattern that way.
