Wouldn't shock me knowing that every year or so the south always gets a storm or two in December-January. The results never tend to be pretty.

That would be a long shot on the EPS. You'd need perfect timing. Anyways, EPS has a threat still (although gut says low chance) to start the month in New England.

I just remember Eyewall moving from North Carolina to BTV... and then BTV didn't record a single warning criteria snowstorm at the airport for two full winters, lol.

Hopefully Phin brings NNE better luck.

Or when Nate Z took the teaching job in Rindge, NH, in fall 2011.  Not only was the job a bummer (no support from admin) but he had less snow than he'd been getting in Dobbs Ferry.

People are getting wayyyyy ahead of themselves with this.

Lets gain a measure of confidence for a serviceable pattern here in NE, before hoisting the warnings for NC.

The mountains of western NC get a lot more snow than anywhere in NE on the last few GFS runs. :P

The west to east flow is all Pacific air thru mid Dec. Without amplification in the east good luck getting snow anywhere unless ski slopes or under an ULL . Who cares if its in the low 50’s in Atlanta. The entire N tier is flooded with PAC puke

The Pacific flow is done when the calendar flips...the PAC air is gone after the first week of December.
