Looks like we got our wish :-) While I do prefer thatI am starting to miss snow and our usual cadence of it. Nah, give me what we had in December as opposed to a bunch or 1 inch events. I'd like another couple events but I am fairly satisfied already for the year.

I will say the one slight positive, has been being able to wear regular shoes so far this month.
Ahoff
This pattern is so boring. The only positive is it hasn't been warm.

If it's going to be cold and dry I'd much rather have warmth in the time being. The older I get the less I appreciate the cold hah.

Ahoff
Ron Smiley's forecast today showed snow chances everyday from Friday on, and colder weather. Looking up hopefully.

Next couple weeks hopefully we can start tracking again.

ChalkHillSnowNut
Huge flakes here right now and it’s supposed to be just rain today
RitualOfTheTrout
No snow here today, going to have to wait until tomorrow it looks like. Not surprised, with these rain to snow in marginal temperatures my yard is usually liquid longer than anticipated. Looks like a few chances for light snow over the next week, but probably another week at least until something bigger is possible.
Ahoff
Over in the the Central PA thread, there's a map of the Euro ensemble mean snowfall (I believe), that puts the snowfall at about 10" over the next two weeks. That's been going up over the last few days too.
CoraopolisWx
Rare freezing fog event this morning making a nice scene. Also looks like some embedded heavier snow in that larger area moving our way.

Speaking of the fog, I woke up around 2am last night and glanced out the window noticing the milky glow of the street lights and did a double take, thought there was heavy snow coming down, nope only fog lol. I think I'm ready for some real snow after that, hopefully we can see some moderate rates even if only in periodic brief interludes over the next several days as the train of NS waves rides through the area. Ahoff
Had to have had a quick 1" here. Just beautiful. I'd be amazing to get these kind of rates and flake size with a storm over a period of hours.
CoraopolisWx
RGEM nailed this one. Assuming this weekend was going to be a non event, I didn't even look at the meso models.
Ecanem
Apparently roads are a mess back in the south hills and city. I’m at seven springs and it’s clear here for now.
Burghblizz
There was definitely some model support for a couple inches this morning, but didn’t make it into the forecasts. So in that way, a nice surprise

Ahoff
I just measured 4”. Also have no power, just in my neighborhood. Not sure it’s snow related but definitely annoying. still snowing pretty good. Another overachiever.

airsci
Just measured 3.5" here in N. Strabane. Of course took my obligatory walk as it was coming down, seemed even deeper than that on the roads.

Yes in addition to this nice surprise quick thump the models are picking up events in the next couple weeks. Looking good i picked up a solid 2 inches in 1 hour. OutnOakmont
It's beautiful outside. A very nice surprise for a lazy Saturday morning!! Probably 1" here so far.
Ahoff
Coming down hard again. still no power, but looks like it’s only 24 customers, so guess Duquesne Light doesn’t care too much. Supposed to be 4 before we get it back.
