Definitely not the preferred solution but even that run manages 5.7" in the metro by the 27th. A white Christmas would be iffy but we wouldn't wait long to replace the snowpack.
Ahoff
Maybe it's in that 4-6 day window where it loses the right track, lol. Hopefully it'll come back to a better solution.
Ahoff
Wonder if the system tonight comes in colder? It was supposed to be 39 today looks like the airport made it to just 33! Must have been colder overall today.

Nice surprise I guess everyone slept in and missed it. A nice pasted 1.5 inches of heavy wet snow early this morning. A nice December so far. A 7 inch storm. A 10 inch storm and a surprise this morning. Almost 20 inches and it’s not Christmas yet.

Just trying to either hold on to the snowpack or maybe even get a Christmas miracle at this point. What a December though!
BigO60
All this snow to end off 2020. We needed this! Almost makes you forget there’s a global pandemic raging. Here’s to more!

Ahoff
Officially 19” this December. Can we make it the ninth December to reach 20” and the first in 17 years? I’d say it looks pretty good to do it. the ultimate slap in the face though would be to have all this snow and a green Christmas.

RitualOfTheTrout
GFS seems to have sped up the front, now coming through Thursday morning, seems it doesn’t really spin up a wave along the front until later which is probably why it’s a bit faster. Is it right, who knows?

Burghblizz
Looks like an active period to track. One thing the virus can’t eff with Only thing better would have been to maintain more of the snow pack.
Rd9108
Seems that even though we may lose this snowpack our chances of having some accumulating snow on Christmas eve/Christmas are good. Then we head into a very favorable pattern toward the end of the month and beginning of January.
Ahoff
Just for laughs, the loooooooooong range CFS, has us flirting with all time record cold in mid-January, with about 14" of snow on the ground.
CoraopolisWx
Guidance has been consistent with a general 2-4” Christmas Eve. Outside of a major shift, a white Christmas is very likely.

Would still take that in a heartbeat on Christmas Eve.

I was just going to post this, lol! Hopefully, we get it. Also, KDKA just showed a model run of Christmas Eve and showed the temperature getting near 60! I’ve only seen around 50 at the highest. Is 60 possible? I really hope not.
