Do we think this is because it is moving faster or because the precip shield is larger?
dj3
Snowed for about 30-40 minutes to drop a coating in Robinson TWP. Pretty much stopped now in a little bit of a lull.
Rd9108
Finally a decent storm during the day and I get to sit at home and enjoy it because I was possibly exposed to Covid. I'll take whatever falls.

airsci
Minor lull is over here. Picking up again and now hopefully to 15 hrs of mainly uninterrupted dendritic joy!
Ahoff
Had a nice burst, coated the ground and pavement. Small flakes now, but definitely more than flurries. Really hope to see those big fat flakes and heavy rates at some point today, and ideally lasting for a long while.

Comparing it to some of the model runs yesterday ... the low location is basically right on off the SC coast, and that's accurate for the time frame, but the precip shield was grossly undermodeled, especially on the western side, but also throughout the entire "snow" region of the precip. That could be good news. Maybe we get an overperformance here. We'll have to see how the banding sets up later.

jwilson
Approaching moderate snow here. The growth itself isn't terrible, but I'd place it as a little less than optimal.
nesussxwx
some heavier returns should be moving into the KPIT metro within the next hour it looks like

True, but that warm nose usually knows just how to flood the entire area, lol. We'll see though. Rates have picked up again.

Mailman
PBZ warning coordinator said last night on their Facebook live that he expects areas north of the Mason-Dixon to stay all snow. I sure hope so.

Ahoff
Looking beautiful out there. Anybody know the last time we had a December with two storms produce more than 6"? Especially two before Christmas (assuming this gets us to at least 6").
Burghblizz
With coastal development in the Carolinas as opposed to further north, I don’t think the tongue makes it accross the M/D line. So I say let’s flirt with It and bring in more WAA snows

It has been a couple years since we’ve had a daytime snowfall. It’s much more fun watching the snow fall then just waking up and having it on the ground. And we will also have steady snow moderate at times for the next 12 hours.

Agree - I think that 11” in March a couple years ago was mostly daytime, or at least kept going into the next day. But most of the more significant snows the last 10 years seem to be mostly at night.
jwilson
I'm seeing some 35-40 DBZ returns to our south in Greene county. Is that sleet or an intense band of snow?
