The biggest November snowstorm on record for Detroit is 9.2" set wayyy back Nov 11/12, 2019 lol. That Nov 1950 storm is YYZ's second largest November storm on record. 12" in a single day and a final total of 15". But I can see why DTW got 6.3". Temps were marginal. Was it a Gulf Low? cyclone77
1/4 mile in heavy snow at Des Moines. Looks like a quick inch or so after midnight here, followed by 1"+ of cold rain tomorrow and Wed. EDIT: DVN hoisted a winter weather advisory for the north third of the cwa.
Chicago Storm
Put me down for 1-2" on colder surfaces in much of the metro, except near the IL shore with onshore flow (at least somewhat onshore) off of 50 degree water temps.Easy under in the metro.Out toward RFD that should be golden.. Go pull up the old maps and you'll be impressed.

hawkeye_wx
This won't last long, but giant flakes (1-2" diameter) are dumping here. We probably have an inch so far.

Actually started out as mostly light rain before the large flakes mixed in.
