The biggest November snowstorm on record for Detroit is 9.2" set wayyy back Nov 11/12, 2019 lol.

That Nov 1950 storm is YYZ's second largest November storm on record. 12" in a single day and a final total of 15". But I can see why DTW got 6.3". Temps were marginal. 

Was it a Gulf Low?

No.  It was a humdinger that backed in from the east coast.  Go pull up the old maps and you'll be impressed.  B)

Nice.  Very large flakes pouring down here as well, but it's not sticking as it's still 35 degrees.  Actually started out as mostly light rain before the large flakes mixed in.
