Yeah looks pretty nice.

Can we get a legit severe setup at some point?  Is that too much to ask?

It's 2020 so no.

But actually looking into it, looking like a western trough may develop after the 10th or so and eject some energetic systems through our sub.  That's model mirage range though so I'm not horribly optimistic

That and there's still the possibility of more hurricanes mucking up the moisture trajectories from the Gulf. For a long stretch broken only by the marginal-risk uber-derecho, the weather in this region has been maddeningly quiescent.

Winds look to be ferocious with the strong front Saturday night/Sunday. It will definitely be a change to those of us in the eastern part of the subfoum who haven't yet had a real taste of winter.

Might even see a small accumulation of LES north of US 30 in northern IN and most of MI, as well as the eastern part of northern OH. I would like to see those 10 ft. waves crashing onto shore off of Lake Michigan, although the land owners along the lake may not be too happy about it, as they loose more ground to mother nature.

First snowflakes here as well. Flurries and light snow. The 2019-20 snow season ended May 12th and the 2020-21 snow season begins Nov 1st. Perfect day for Christmas music to start!

Reminds me of my mom.  As soon as November arrives, time for the Christmas music.  Too early imo.

Long range GFS hammers your neck of the woods over the next couple weeks. Maxes out the legend at 48”+.

Hadn't looked at anything beyond this coming week.  There's potential to be well in the 60's Wednesday and Thursday. Then I'm sure I'll be buried feet deep by December.

November is too early for Christmas music ? I disagree. Christmas is next month !

The one Detroit station switched at 10pm last night (they are a newer station of only a few years) to beat their competitor, the local radio giant who has been known for years as "Detroits Christmas Station". They always make a big production of the switch to Christmas on their morning show, sometime in early November,  so since the other station flipped my guess is they do it tmrw. lol I just can't help myself, been listening all day as flakes fly outside and I'm starting to get Christmas decorations out.

There's a difference between November 1 and November 25 imo.

There's a well known local guy who has a really elaborate setup with Christmas decorations and music... has been doing it for over 20 years and it draws thousands of visitors each season.  He starts setting up right after halloween and then it goes "live" on Thanksgiving evening.  That just feels more right to me, but to each their own.

Wow 20+ footers today on Lake Superior.

I’m not super hardcore into it but I do get out 1-2x per season on Lake Michigan usually near Sheboygan when the surf is good and I surf in a wetsuit. There are some guys who are super into it and have 7 mil wetsuits, surf 12 months out of the year, anytime there are waves. A crew went up to chase this storm on Superior and they are up there surfing it. You can find one of the more entertaining and hardcore dudes on Instagram, his handle is stokemachine’

This is the kind of stuff that makes me intensely proud to live here. Everybody has their own opinion but I think the Lakes are truly God’s country.
