Wow it sure is quiet here with the pending storm lol. The tropical storm and flood watches have been extended a bit in ga - looks like a fast mover but a couple of hours or some wild weather. Parts of ga look to be in action during the morning rush hour.

...TROPICAL STORM WATCH IN EFFECT...

A Tropical Storm Watch means tropical storm-force winds are possible
somewhere within this area within the next 48 hours

* LOCATIONS AFFECTED
- Greenville
- Simpsonville

* WIND
- LATEST LOCAL FORECAST: Below tropical storm force wind
- Peak Wind Forecast: 20-30 mph with gusts to 40 mph

- THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY THAT INCLUDES TYPICAL FORECAST
UNCERTAINTY IN TRACK, SIZE AND INTENSITY: Potential for wind 39
to 57 mph
- PLAN: Plan for hazardous wind of equivalent tropical storm
force.
- PREPARE: Efforts to protect property should now be
underway. Prepare for limited wind damage.
- ACT: Act now to complete preparations before the wind
becomes hazardous.

- POTENTIAL IMPACTS: Limited
- Damage to porches, awnings, carports, sheds, and unanchored
mobile homes. Unsecured lightweight objects blown about.
- Many large tree limbs broken off. A few trees snapped or
uprooted, but with greater numbers in places where trees
are shallow rooted. Some fences and roadway signs blown
over.
- A few roads impassable from debris, particularly within
urban or heavily wooded places. Hazardous driving
conditions on bridges and other elevated roadways.
- Scattered power and communications outages.

* FLOODING RAIN
- LATEST LOCAL FORECAST:
- Peak Rainfall Amounts: Additional 1-3 inches, with locally
higher amounts

- THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY THAT INCLUDES TYPICAL FORECAST
UNCERTAINTY IN TRACK, SIZE AND INTENSITY: Potential for
moderate flooding rain
- PLAN: Emergency plans should include the potential for
moderate flooding from heavy rain. Evacuations and rescues
are possible.
- PREPARE: Consider protective actions if you are in an area
vulnerable to flooding.
- ACT: Heed any flood watches and warnings. Failure to take
action may result in serious injury or loss of life.

- POTENTIAL IMPACTS: Significant
- Moderate rainfall flooding may prompt several evacuations
and rescues.
- Rivers and tributaries may quickly become swollen with
swifter currents and overspill their banks in a few places,
especially in usually vulnerable spots. Small streams,
creeks, canals, arroyos, and ditches overflow.
- Flood waters can enter some structures or weaken
foundations. Several places may experience expanded areas
of rapid inundation at underpasses, low-lying spots, and
poor drainage areas. Some streets and parking lots take on
moving water as storm drains and retention ponds overflow.
Driving conditions become hazardous. Some road and bridge
closures.

* TORNADO
- LATEST LOCAL FORECAST:
- Situation is somewhat favorable for tornadoes

- THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY THAT INCLUDES TYPICAL FORECAST
UNCERTAINTY IN TRACK, SIZE AND INTENSITY: Potential for a few
tornadoes
- PLAN: Emergency plans should include the potential for a
few tornadoes.
- PREPARE: If your shelter is particularly vulnerable to
tornadoes, prepare to relocate to safe shelter before
hazardous weather arrives.
- ACT: If a tornado warning is issued, be ready to shelter
quickly.

- POTENTIAL IMPACTS: Limited
- The occurrence of isolated tornadoes can hinder the
execution of emergency plans during tropical events.
- A few places may experience tornado damage, along with
power and communications disruptions.
- Locations could realize roofs peeled off buildings,
chimneys toppled, mobile homes pushed off foundations or
overturned, large tree tops and branches snapped off,
shallow-rooted trees knocked over, moving vehicles

Pretty wild to see ts warnings so far inland with a gulf hurricane.....making landfall in LA no less . This is really a unique event given its hyper forward speed...and Winds just off the surface are impressive on models..especially wrf/hmon.  Going to be really interesting to see how the still strong circulation interacts with the high topography over north ga and the upstate. The ridge tops from your area down to Rome could see some really high winds.

Although some of the stronger winds aloft move overhead here, the lack of convection probably  keeps most of the gusts in check here. In fact,  Looks like it could be a real screwjob rain wise where im at.

Zeta almost a cat 3.....110 at 4pm advisory with radar out of New Orleans showing 135mph winds and recon has 113 knot. LA just can't catch a break.

Just lost power here in Cherryville.  Winds sustained at 25.  Had pre-booked a trip to Bryson City back in the summer to ride the train and look at leaves.  Supposed to depart at 230 today.  Called them to see if it’s still on.....the lady said we’ve never canceled for weather.  Guess we’re going to BC!  We do have a waterfall horseback ride scheduled for tomorrow.  Should be a perfect day to ride. Everyone be safe!

Zeta doing its thing for sure here in the Triad.  Trees down, power flickering, branches slamming the side of the house and nearly every leaf is now in my yard.  I foresee a sunny weekend cleanup and burn pile.

The larger trees in my neighborhood we’re still fairly green.  The leaves went from green to gone.

(Small and medium trees had good color.)
