Went for a little drive this morning. Over the course of 1/4 mile... 550' - straight rain with random flakes 607' - 50/50 mix 670' - straight dumping (like the kind you see shit in if your high beams are on) Then drove up Rt. 202, up a hill heavy snow, bottom of hill hit mix. Snow was accumulating on cars in driveways around 900'. It's this extreme now at a very low elevation in southern CT. All snow at 200 ft and mainly rain with some random flakes at around 100ft. I have seen 300-400' making a difference but never 100' over less than a quarter mile. Like a switch flipping.

40/70 Benchmark
Left home at 720...just spitting snow in Methuen. Hit 495 and it became a steadier light snow.....some light accumulation began on trees between 128 and 495, then I hit 128 and the snow was moderate with accumulation on everything. Looks like about 1/2" here on this hill in Chelsea.
