I think we had like 1-2” of slop here if I recall... if things break right I’d say the ceiling here is higher with this particular event. Euro latched on first about 4 days out or so (maybe 4.5-5...can’t quite recall), and then other guidance started falling in line. Ironically we were kind of distracted by a rain to snow event on 10/27 preceding it. So we were trying to forecast for that while wondering if 10/29-30 was actually going to happen as some guidance showed or if we would see a last minute Lucy....given how historic it was, it was easy to be skeptical until quite close. I was surprised to see 1.5" inches of snow with that all the way to the south shore of Western Long Island. Might not see anything like that again in our lifetimes....then again who knows? Ray if I remember correctly, it was 1.5" at JFK where I was at that time. 3" at Central Park and around 6" in the Bronx. Double digits were as close by as Bridgeport with ruined Halloween..... Sounds like hes being more superstitious. We did not have any snow in October 2011 and the Winter was pretty much the suckiest I've ever experience although it was not as bad as it was in SNE. Also all this wintry stuff going on in the upper Midwest and in the plains was not there in October 2011. This October will finish below average here once again different from October 2011. My superstition is that weve had no flakes in Oct yet. 7 of the past 8 Octobers (since 2011) have had a trace of snow. Then again we had 5 days of snow this May. Ma nature evens out. Yup, It was a war zone here...poles snapped and transformers down..trees broken everywhere. 95% of town with no power. School cancelled for a week. A total mess.
