chuckster2012
Don't look now but the 00z Gfs has dropped the next storm way south! Hello, Cincinnati! ( if it holds...prob be back north tomorrow ).

Gino27
Had some sleet. Now nothing. Kinda nervous because we only get warmer from here.
osubrett2
There are still pockets of warm air aloft that caused mixing around Dayton and now around Columbus. These pockets will cool completely overnight and moisture near CVG will move this way as snow. 850s shouldn't rise above 0C until 9-10am. That's when our risk of rain and melting starts. I'm already back to snow. Hopefully it holds up through the morning.
HighTechEE
Had 2" on when I went to bed, been raining fairly hard since, maybe a half inch of crap left on the ground full of bullet holes. Radar shows the northern half of Montgomery & Greene counties back to snow, but its not according to my buddies, still rain. chuckster you talking about the back side of the Friday system, looks like a wave forms and rides the cold wave into Sat, mood flakes for the weekend
CoachLB
Had compaction overnight. Somewhere between 5-6 inches. Mixed precipitation last 30 minutes.
pondo1000
Guessing 4ish here. Went to bed at 1:30 last night to a driving sleet storm!
JayPSU
Raining here in Westerville now. Models all seem to thing we’ll see 3-5” on the backside. Getting backside snow almost never happens though, so I’m skeptical.

This isn't really the typical backside snow that under-preforms here (not to say this won't under-perform, but there is reason to think otherwise). There is a second vorticity max that forecast to deepen and crash down over the lakes. You can see it nicely on water vapor: PVA from this feature seems to provide ample lift to sustain snow showers across the region into Tuesday morning. I can see some lake moisture enhancement creating some lollipops of 3+ over the course of the next 24-36 hours.
Gino27
I measured 5” this morning north of plain city. Had about an hour or two of snow and now sleet. Looks like I might avoid pure rain before going to snow. I think 2-3 is possible on the back end of this because ratios should improve.
Snohio
2-4 inches in the Toledo area. Another 1-2 possible today. We'll see.

Also, in this current set up, why doesn't Toledo get lake affect. Is it our Elevation??

Gino27
I've been snow for about 1.5 hours. Just now starting to stick on the driveway again. The rest of the snow doesn't look too impressive though.

vpbob21
The second part of this system is delivering. CLE had to issue a WWA for another row of counties north. Picked up about 3" here since about 2:00, on top of the 1.8" overnight now approaching 5". Still coming down at probably .5"/hr.
chuckster2012
Switched back to snow here in Jennings around 6 p.m. Picked up about 1" of new snow so far. A hole to my north on radar. .
dilly84
Have picked up probably 2.5" so far back side here in knox county. Futures looking like snow til at least 3am.

Other than that I think I'm calling this one finished. About 7" total fell but with poor ratios, melting and compaction, I will probably wake up to around 5" on the ground again. jaf316
Giant hole opened up in the radar just as it was changing back to snow. Oh well. Hoping for redevelopment tomorrow...

Gino27
I'm hearing that they got over 8" in Marion and 10.5" up in Mansfield. Sure would've been nice to not have any mixing.
jaf316
Snow on the ground, snow in the air, and the euro showing at least 2 more chances for snow in the next 10 days -- it's beginning to feel a bit like winter around here...
