cyclone77
Pretty entertaining evening with lots of lightning flashes, and slow-rolling thunder. Hasn't been too much rain yet (0.22") but chances for good downpours the rest of the night.

hawkeye_wx
A band of good cells trained through Cedar Rapids overnight and dropped 1.35" of rain in my yard. It's nice to hear heavy rain and thunder again. Another inch could fall later as the cold front fires up. 2

OrdIowPitMsp
Nice wintry mix this morning. Big snows up north. Deep cold (for October standards) coming this weekend. Single digit lows outside the metro area
weatherbo
Should be an interesting 24-30 hours. Pretty much all hi-res 12z models indicate the possibility of 8 to as much as 12" of snow locally. With the ground still covered (and assuming that pans out), I think the snow is probably here to stay for the season.
RyanDe680
Had 2.89 IMBY. Power outage from lightning too. Quality 2am stuff.
A-L-E-K
still firmly a long shot but the GFS isn't too far from something interesting happening when the trough ejects late next week
Brian D
Still waiting on the precip. It's still trying to overcome the dry air. The head of the Lake sees this happen quite a bit. Mets here call it the "donut hole". Ne winds pool dry air here.
Chicago Storm
2.51" of rain here overnight into this morning, and 2.05" at ORD. Quality training t'storm activity all night...probably the best of the year.

cyclone77
MLI made it to 80 late this afternoon. Hit 77 here. Dews in the mid 60s is making it feel pretty muggy out there. Quite the change from the low 50s around midday.
purduewx80
So close to being something more substantial near the MS River. The 21Z special sounding out of DVN has a favorable wind field for tornadoes, but a few warm layers and the marginal mid-level lapse rates may keep keeping it from producing. It got warm enough for a lake breeze to edge into the northern metro this afternoon, but the increasing southerly flow is allowing it to retreat back north now.
