2 stratus gauges at different heights about 15 ft apart.

6ft up...1.80”

A little off the ground...1.89”

So there was definitely some wind turbulence knocking down my totals from the upper gauge. That explains why the tipper was running higher since I originally had it calibrated with the other one that was lower. That’s why they tell you to install the gauges lower and with wind screens.

5 inches in Randolph? I am not there but that seems high.

Another good short term QPF battle between ECMWF and GFS... some decent differences in SNE between the two models.

Bet 300 ft makes all the difference in the world

The spotter at 1750' only had 0.5" at 0700, seemingly about the same as me. I don't see how anyone around here added 4.5" since then. I have been watching it on the cam. Maybe 2-3 inches total at most. There is no one living in Randolph higher than about 1750', as far as I know.

Seems high for real.

Perhaps on  SW edge bordering Jefferson. You notice 2 miles ese Jefferson was in there for 7.1 as well and we know Santa Village in Jefferson got hit hard.

So probably somewhere that does poorly on Eastern flow (and good on NW flow)  on SW side/edge of Randolph.
