Unless you have Sunday ticket it's not on in the NE market.

Something's gotta give late week. You have the GFS/GEM camp which is super amped and the EURO which is suppression city.

It’s not the cbs national game? If not, I will be watching red zone

Check out the Denver chiefs game this afternoon as they are expecting 6-12 of snow.

While the US has become used to record October snowfalls in this low sea ice era, this year is in a class by itself. Seems to have started right around 2006 with the historic early Buffalo October LES Snowstorm. Then NNJ had the record early snows at the end of October 2008. Followed by the NYC record early snowstorm at the end of October 2011. There have been numerous record early October shows since then mainly across the Rockies and Midwest like this year so far.

The Euro finally came north with the heavy rain potential from Zeta later in the week. This is followed by possibly the first 30s of the season for NYC around the end of the month. Then temperatures quickly warm across the US to start November.

I’m glad the end of October cold shot is going to verify. It makes sense with the mjo going towards p8

Considering a NYC forum topic for Thu-Sat 1-3" rain, maybe a touch of snow n and nw fringe but for me, it's a little early to have confidence of more than 2" of rain in our forum and/or 1" of snow high terrain northwest, IF snow were to occur. Timing-merger of the northern and southern streams late this week is imo, pretty uncertain, with vastly different storm tracking-precip shields.  No action on my part for a topic, prior to 6PM tonight at the earliest.  Just need a little more consensus.

Great stat! Thanks for the information. I can’t believe some of the areas getting snow out of this storm. Kansas City is forecasted to get 3-6 which is crazy for October

October has been the most reliably negative AO month of the last 20 years.

but no.. FOX/CBS have different games on..bummer!

If you're a big NFL fan, I highly recommend getting the Sunday Ticket. It's great being able to watch any game you want. Looking forward to that Chiefs-Broncos game today.

It’s probably the only thing keeping the dish network in business

Yeah after the heavy rain from the remnants of the tropical system and cold shot at the end of the week that could give us our first freeze, it's looking like an extended warm pattern in early November. Week of November 2nd should be well above normal temps.

Flurries are in store for the suburbs and maybe even the city if it’s more dynamic than the models are showing. If we get flurries I’d be happy. Kinda cold out and the cold out west is no joke. Obviously it’s going to modify by the time we get that storm here but the potential for a snow shower or two is there!

It would be the shortest duration between a T at the end of a snowfall season and T the beginning of the next. Getting a T on May 9th and also in late October in the same year would be a new record. So it will be interesting to see if could at least see a T with the storm.

For 25 years I've been saying there should be a national water transport system. Move the excess from wet areas to the dry areas. All I ever hear is that I'm crazy. I'm ok with that.

yeah 20 years later us "crazy" people will end up being right.  There should be a national transport system for everything.

Chances of snow flurries making it down to the coast, Chris?

I know its dreamlike and perhaps Quixotic, but can you imagine being able to capture some of the tremendous, storm driven, rain totals and being able to transport them to where they would do the most good. As always ......
