BuffaloWeather
The upgrade to COD radar sucks, wish they kept it the way it was. No real way to transport it on here anymore. =(

Flying MXZ
Snowing when I went to bed, snowing when I got up. And less snow on the ground in the morning. 2 days so far with snow on the ground all day long, pretty early for that here. All gone soon for awhile. Looking forward to the warm weather coming up.

Hopefully winter will be different than the past few years, too. I’m going to test his hypothesis about planting grass in an area I recently disturbed! As someone else on here recently mentioned, 10 degrees above average right now is beautiful weather, but 10 degrees below average is just miserable!

It’s the only weather you’ve got.” It’s a bit silly, but a good motto for all of us on this forum.

It should be wrapping up for good around Thanksgiving and we'll be back swimming in the lakes around Christmas. 1
BuffaloWeather
One good thing about all this, the lakes will remain warm and will likely be setting records in about 2 weeks!

vortmax
Totally agree and happy to have a above average November. Then the teleconnections change and the hammer drops mid-Dec through Feb. Keep an eye on any SSW events as well.

Oddly my middle child (she’s 12) and I have already made the pact that if we have another event to that degree we are also jumping off the garage roof and into the back yard. Now we wait...

If I remember correctly 4 events all with 20+ inches.
DeltaT13
Nice visible loop showing the elevation dependent snowcover in the Adirondacks. Also a neat little strip of snow in NW pa that quickly melts. https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/sector_band.php?sat=G16§or=ne&band=GEOCOLOR&length=24 1
Buffalo Bumble
What a difference a year makes. Last year at this time we were about to enter the coldest/snowiest early November stretch of weather I can recall. 1-2 weeks of snow cover at BUF, some days averaging 20 below normal. This year, we bask in near summer warmth and sun. Payback for the miserable weather in April and first part of May this year I guess.

Hoping this means we flip the table completely and have a cold end of November and December. With the warm lake it would be “lit” as the kids say... 1
