After a gusty wind all day, it was eerily calm...then a strong 5 minute burst of heavy rain, wind gusts, and hail (seemed more like graupel?)... and then back to breezy and a light rain. It was a very interesting 5 minute cold front!

Strongest winds are usually an hour behind the front. You’ll still get a little more  action.

Interesting! I didn't know that was usually the case.

My post might have sounded sarcastic...but I really did find the 5 minute burst very interesting! haha... I mean, it was moving at 65 miles per hour, so it was bound to sweep through quickly.

Just had a super loud boom of thunder closely followed by (less than 2 seconds) a flash of lightning. Then about 10 minutes of pea sized hail and Graupel mixed. Winds are absolutely ranking right now hardest of the day for sure.

Yeah heard them really ramp up a few minutes ago when those cells raced through...

Extreme flooding along the lakeshore continues... I’ve NEVER seen Furhman Blvd under water before...

Shouldn’t lightning come before the thunder?
