PowellVolz
It's a raw, cold, snow shower and snow flurry kind of day. Flakes are coming down lightly now. These kind of days have been rare the last few years. Cold and snowy days around here are rare you say? .

I honestly used to get them at least 3 or 4 days a month minimum from late November to late March. Just doesn't happen any more like that.
Daniel Boone
Scattered lt. Sn showers here today. Went to Middlesboro earlier and noticed areas on Stone Mountain in western Lee County had measurable snow in streaks. Alway down to about 1400 ft. In some places. More as u go up of course. Apparently some heavy snow showers or training streaks went over these areas.
John1122
Spent the day in Knoxville, got home about 7:30 and there are still flurries ongoing here. The snow flurries stopped just south of Caryville today as I headed towards Knoxville.
John1122
Actually had a few snow showers over the last hour dusting the deck and car tops. Little blue specks show up on the radar but it's mostly undetected on there. Temp is in the 20s.

John1122
The fog tonight was incredible as I drove home. I was literally a mile away from where I thought I was at one point this evening. You couldn't see Walmart from 100 yards away. I mean not even any light from it.
Holston_River_Rambler
Awesome satellite imagery early this AM that shows some of the local microclimates. What especially stands out to me are the WAA areas in the eastern Valley and the areas up against that N. plateau that normally get a little CADing in in Miller B type systems: probably a lot more to learn from a satellite image like this.
Holston_River_Rambler
Plateau sunset: You can hear the wind aloft. Something fun must be going on higher up. I took a short time lapse of the clouds rolling. You can actually see this cloud formation on the local GOES 16 imagery, at the bottom of the Frozen Head mts. Really, just a vividly blue sky, after the drear of late. 3

If what stovepipe said is correct, look Into the Southwest sky just after sunset tonight. I believe between 6 and 6:30 is the best time to view it

Holston_River_Rambler
Took a drive to Sparta TN yesterday. Beautiful views of the western edge of the plateau looking towards Cookeville: Also, cool sunrise this AM up here, some cirrus, before dawn, were catching the sun: I had to tweak the above mage a bit to capture the almost eerie look, due to low light. Jed33
Looks like we have been at or below freezing since about 4:30 Thursday afternoon. Today should warm up into the 40’s, so it will end the streak of freezing or below freezing temps. I’ll have to look back, but I’m thinking it’s been since 2018-2019 since we had a stretch below freezing of that length or greater. 3
