Winter storm warnings up along the border now. Gsp has Wolf picking up 3-6" in their forecast. Something tells me that may bust.

We are going to get better forcing down here but I'd say 6 to 12 plus for you. We are in the prime for this setup.

Are the northern counties not in a good spot for this setup?  RNK seems to be talking only a few inches for Beech and the GSP map looks to agree.

I think the forcing and the trajectory is what is driving the outlook. You can even see the best accumulations will be right at Haywood,  Swain,  and Graham county.  Personally I think Haywood is in the best position.  Places like Crabtree, Fines Creek, and Max Patch are going to get waxed. Others will get snow but I think the huge totals will be in around this area.

Definitely a southern app storm. Much better forcing as the majority of the precip pushes through. Northern mtns will get just tradition flow snow. I'm thinking maybe more like 2 to 4 for a storm total up this way if that. Maybe a little more if some shower training sets up. It'll be be just another nickel or dime type stuff here. Next weekend could be awesome though.

Is there a site you guys use for the really high elevations like 5500+? I was wondering how Grandfather mountain is going to be next weekend. Usually the forecasts are for a general area. Is there a source for individual peaks in NC?
