Met1985
Down another degree! We are under mostly cloudy skies currently with some stars peeking through. That might be the best thing. Seems like im losing a degree every 30 to 45 minutes.
FLweather
I'm going out on a limb. Looking at current trends Y'all mountain folks should do well. I don't really agree on the transfer. I do see the possibility of y'all having zr. But should be limited. Once the trough axis swings through @ h5 should be a decent NWF event afterwards.

Yeah this upslope event is going to be one of the best in years if the models continue to trend the way they have been.
Sw NC weather
Temp has fell back to 30 here we were 32 about an hour ago. I wasn’t expecting it to fall back down.

We will see. Not your typical miller b transfer. Opens up into a huge massive trough. With the blocking downstream makes me wonder if we can get the cold on this side of the globe. Maybe a cold start to Feb and finish to March.

I’ve got down to 29 with no signs of steadying. I read somewhere that the primary low was in southern Mo and all models had it in northern Mo.

Met1985
Wow I am falling off a cliff. Another degree lost. Down to 22 in just the last 10 to 15 minutes. We are under partly cloudy skies here so that has helped tremendously for temps diving off the cliff.
WeatherHawk
About 1.5” here...some wind and sitting at 26 degrees looks like a lot of juice coming up from SW...then I predict the mtns will get more on the backside

wncsnow
Lot of sour grapes tonight sheesh. I'm pleased with a couple inches of snow it's not like we are getting 2 feet (although places like Beech and Leconte may get over a foot with nwfs)

I think its going to start out as a west flow then NW then more northerly as the event kind of wraps up towards the middle to end.

We got up to like 37 degrees today also but with the snow pack, very little wind and virtually clear skies its like we are radiating like a beast. Which we do very well in those types of situations. Its just been a perfect storm for temps to nosedive tonight and fast at that.

I’m thinking the wind here is playing a role in that stark a difference, you do usually run a few degrees colder than me just due to where you are in the county and then 200’ more in elevation. I could hear it picking up earlier even though it’s calm again now. Still not expecting more than a brief start as snow before it turns into a mix and eventually all rain, but everything is froze solid so I’ve got that going for me before that moisture gets here.

SnoJoe
I've got a nice breeze too. Gust to 24 in the last 15 minutes. We're all over the place with obs. This is not the type of storm we see too often. Usually it's more north before transfer. This thing might throw somebody a curveball tonight.

SnowDawg
I didn't pay this one much attention down here in the GA mountains but it's definitely a lot colder than it was supposed to be right now. 28.5/25.1. Forecast from GSP was low of 32 without even any frozen/freezing at onset.

Met1985
Looking at the GFS and the NAM both still look very good for the upslope event starting after midnight Sunday night. Both those models want to really scour out the cold air quickly. So we will see.
