Met1985
The GFS just keeps upping the ante here on the NW flow snow. Another bump up in accumulations! Someone is going to see over a foot from this event. I guarantee it.

I’m expecting the roads to get bad since the sun went down alreadyYeah my subaru just quit on me (engine misfire issue, no clue what the problem is) so I'm gonna be in my wife's two wheel drive for this event. Came in from Boone to foscoe and they were getting rough during the downpour. Yay.
wncsnow
I have lived here for the better part of 30 years and I can't recall snow coming down so quickly all at once. Usually it's a gradual increase as the column gets saturated off the Blue Ridge. Today, it went from nothing to low visibility in 20 minutes or less. Inch and a half of snow mostly fell in 90 minutes when the temperature was 38 to start off. Now 30.9. Something to remember
Met1985
Temp has actually dropped to 27 tonight. Im surprised because I thought we might hover right at freezing then go north of that when precipitation starts back.
Tyler Penland
Temp has gone up a couple degrees since the snow stopped. Currently 30 flat.
SnoJoe
A solid 2. That puts my yearly totals in the 40's in January. Much better winter than last year. I still expect a dog sometime next month. Temps are rising here too, back up to 30.4. Winds have turned to the WSW.

mercurydime
Still at 30.6 here. Love for that to hold as the next batch of precip comes in, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. Well, maybe a little bit.
Blue_Ridge_Escarpment
Roughly 2.5 on the ground here at the house. Went to dinner with friends around 5 and man did it turn loose shortly after that. Roads still completely covered here, 26 degrees.
