wncsnow
57 when I left Asheville and 39 still in Marion. The Blue Ridge can make some crappy weather
SnoJoe
Nice break from the cold today. Rained this morning but nothing much at all this afternoon, even a little sun. It's rarely 50 degrees here at 7pm in January. Tomorrow looks wonderful too but as Bucket said, it'll be sloppy. Who's putting a call map out for Thursday? Met? Ward? Moto? Grit?

wncsnow
Good storm here and heavy rain. We have gotten more rain than previously modeled... seems like a given
SnoJoe
Thunder here too. You know what they say, "thunder in January, blizzard in february". I think that's what they say.
Met1985
We had several storms run through here last night. I know in winter the ol saying is thunder and snow on the ground within 10 days.
Met1985
The GFS, EURO, and NAM all show us getting a bit of snow coming in tomorrow night through Thursday morning. Currently im going with 1 to 3 inches lower elevations and 2 to 4 inches above 3500 feet. I think this will be a wind driven snow and temps are going to crash big time. The highs from Wednesday to Thursday are going to be 20 to 30 degrees different. Most of the higher elevations won't get out of the 20s for highs Thursday and the rest of everyone else will likely be around freezing.

FlatLander48
One thing interesting, and has been mentioned in the main thread, is the amount of lift with the LP as it is coming through, the banding showing up on several models could make quite the quick hit for our area, haven't looked at the RGEM in a while, but verbatim could mean a burst of HEAVY snow.
