WSW just issued. Very odd range. The used the same for everyone in the WSW even over to the foothills.

* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total snow
accumulations of 1 to 5 inches along with a light glaze of ice
  possible.

* WHERE...Much of the mountains, northern foothills, and northwest
  Piedmont of North Carolina.

* WHEN...From Thursday evening through Friday evening.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous
conditions could impact the Friday morning commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation.

That tells me they’re skeptical of the details right now but that they need to get it posted.

“Dusting to half a foot for 1/3rd of NC. Outside of that we’re really not sure.”

Lol.

Yeah buddy! As I thought there are details still to come but this gets the public warned. There will be adjustments made especially tomorrow morning.  I like it.

This will get fine tuned with specific areas, precip. types, & amounts. As the event nears onset.

I should have been more specific it had downtown AVL getting 4 to 6 inches and it didn't. I have watched the HRRR for years its not bad but not as good as the Hires Nam

Lol yeah I agree with that. Downtown is such an odd place sometimes but I do think this setup favors snowfall for downtown.  At least to get something decent. I would much rather go with the NAM personally but its nice to look at.

I live less than 2 miles north of downtown and had 3.5 to 4 inches
