Tyler Penland
looks like the Banner Elk Cafe...Great place to eat and reasonably priced. My wife and I used to go there regularly. Every time I work up there I still try to grab something to go. Love their chicken salad.
WxKnurd
Great pics everyone! Looks like Buncombe north of 40 was a sweet spot to be from what I’ve seen. Was a cold 31 and blustery when we left Hickory at 11:30.
Tyler Penland
Cant figure out how to get this video to upload but here's a link to FB. About 8PM in Boone last night. At 7pm there was barely a dusting. Picked up nearly 3" in an hour from this band. Photo is from 421 outside of town. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=3796060243759393&id=100000663650926

WxKnurd
Back in Balsam, 19 degrees in a winter wonderland with flurries flying. Most consistent measurement is a touch over 3” so that’s what I’m going it. Puts me at 6”+ for the year which is already more than half of what we ended up with last year. Wonderful Christmas scenery!

calculus1
Drove up to Blowing Rock to have a White Christmas this early afternoon. Sunny and 28 in Lenoir but snow squalls and 13 in Blowing Rock, a short 10 miles away. Roads were pretty bad up there too. It's amazing the difference in weather in that short distance.30 back here at home in Hickory, which is an incredibly cold temp for 3 PM in the afternoon under full sun.Merry Christmas to all!Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk

eyewall
It was definitely a fun day. It didn't stop snowing most of the time I was up there today. It reminded me of VT upslope action. We even saw flurries when we left Raleigh early this morning.

Met1985
Maybe a few more inches tonight or more. Iv seen flow snow set up surprisingly overnight with very cold temps just wringing out every bit of moisture.... Could be one of those nights...
wncsnow
I went up to Spruce Pine earlier and was surprised by how much snow was still on the roads. It was 28 in Marion and 16 in Grassy Creek.
