Same here seen it too many times. Very rarely do we get ice down this way. Usually snow or rain. There’s still a slim possibility of snow happening something like the Canadian showed.
Absolutely, I can count on one hand how many times I've seen ice here in my 40 years of living in Cashiers. Snow or rain it is and most often just a cold, cold rain, sadly.

Nope, no CAD for us. Just a cold rain if it’s a true Wedge setup.

Across the NC mtns and higher
 elevations of the Upstate and NE GA, snow will be the main
 p-type, where a few inches are possible across the srn
 escarpment and lower totals to the north. A lot can change with
 this system and the fcst will be adjusted over the next few
 days. One to keep an eye on.

NWS seems to think the higher elevations will be ok.(excerpt from their afternoon discussion) Looking at the 12z GFS soundings, they show a very thin layer around 800mb above freezing up that way.

@CAD_Wedge_NC

Sounding for what I tried to do as central Haywood.  I’m on the western border so even worse for me.  Northern down into the Central Mountains can score, but unless you are on the Escarpment in the Southern Mountains CAD setups are no bueno majority of the time.
