I was thinking the same thing. With all the sunshine today my low temp will probably be before midnight.

I dropped to 28.2 around 6pm and have now climbed back to 29.6. So I think I've bottomed out for the night.

The temp here hovered right around 30 from midnight on.

Im not sure when or if we transition.  The good thing is we had a great leaf season and we have had several frosts and freezes. Let it be warm. Ill watch how things go over the next 3 to 4 weeks. Currently just enjoy what is coming. To early to get sustained cold currently.  I dont want it at this time.

I may have posted at least one of these inversion photos before.  You can barely see it but the first photo shows what I believe is a bit of an energetic heat plume from the Skyland plant breaking through the inversion layer.  The second photo, seems to include moisture from the French Broad River:
