Valleys might go low while we'll bottom out and then rise a little before daybreak. I was thinking the same thing. With all the sunshine today my low temp will probably be before midnight.

Buckethead
I was thinking the same thing. With all the sunshine today my low temp will probably be before midnight. I dropped to 28.2 around 6pm and have now climbed back to 29.6. So I think I've bottomed out for the night. Met1985
From here on out we will start to warm up and we will be underneath a ridge for a good part of the month.
PisgahNCWeather
Yep looks like we are stuck with Alaska being cold already. May need a hurricane to shake up the pattern or we could be stuck under that SER for a long time.

That’s okay with me as long as we flip it at the beginning of December into a consistent cold pattern.

That would be far superior to getting the flip to cold at the beginning of April like this past one. 1
Met1985
Im not sure when or if we transition. The good thing is we had a great leaf season and we have had several frosts and freezes. Let it be warm. Ill watch how things go over the next 3 to 4 weeks. Currently just enjoy what is coming. To early to get sustained cold currently. I dont want it at this time. Yeah the past several mornings we have really radiated well. Had another heavy frost and freeze this morning. Crazy how the inversion work in these atmospheric rivers.
Moonhowl
I may have posted at least one of these inversion photos before. You can barely see it but the first photo shows what I believe is a bit of an energetic heat plume from the Skyland plant breaking through the inversion layer. The second photo, seems to include moisture from the French Broad River:

SnoJoe
Down to 43.3. The front crashed through around 4 pm. The wind switched from SW to NW in about 15 minutes and picked up to 25 mph with some decent gusts.
