Forgetting the comparisons to Sandy/Irene this has been quite impressive. gotta put it into perspective.

1) an 80-100+ knot ULJ streak in early August is pretty damn impressive. Not going to see that all too often. With us in the entrance region of the jet that was going to help the storm maintain intensity.

2) Gusts 50-60 mph may not seem that impressive...but again...taking into perspective...this is August, not January. We see what 50-60 mph gusts do during t'storms. Trees are fully leaved. Over 300K w/o power in CT and continuing to climb

3) Not sure if we will get any confirmed tornadoes but the parameters we had in place for a tropical system...you don't see that often.

4) Getting breaks of sun too...during peak heating and with a LLJ cranking.

Getting frustrated here after some quick good gust nothing much at all now ugh

Had about a half hour-maybe 45 minutes of impressive winds here...heard some trees snapping and collapsing..alot of debris all over.  The 30 minutes or so that it lasted was exciting. Calmed down currently.  If that’s pretty much the end(?), then it was a very brief window of some excitement.

Surprised there's not more reports from this band to the SW
Wind is crazy here right now just ahead of that line. Lost power about 20 minutes ago which is very unusual for my neighborhood. Got the generator going but it doesn't power the central AC. I doubt they're sending crews out anytime soon to pull branches off power lines.

Just lost two windows on the 5th floor of my office building, they blew in in the gusts.

Oh wow!   Outside of the additional .75” of rain that we didn’t need, it’s been pretty much a nonevent in Greenfield.
Getting a little bit gusty right now though. Patches of blue sky breaking out.
