The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  East central Atlantic County in southern New Jersey...
  South central Ocean County in southern New Jersey...
  Southeastern Burlington County in southern New Jersey...

* Until 1045 AM EDT.

* At 1014 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a
  tornado was located over Brigantine, or near Atlantic City, moving
  north at 65 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree
           damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include...
  Atlantic City, Brigantine, Tuckerton, Port Republic, Brookville,
  Warren Grove, Bass River State Forest, Chatsworth, New Gretna, Penn
  State Forest, Mystic Island and Ocean Acres.

This includes Garden State Parkway between mile markers 48 and 63.

In 26 minutes, Philadelphia has picked up 1.17" rain. That brings the daily figure to 3.01". The daily figure surpassed the old record of 2.74", which was set in 1915.

the storm in 1915 was enhanced by a tropical wave from the west I think...flooding was the story with that storm...

Stupid question I always thought we look at the Velocity radars to look for tornado activity.  On several videos, I have seen meteorologists use the correlation coefficient radar that we usually use to look for the changeover line in a snow/sleet storm.  What is the difference?  Thank you in advance
