Just a light shower here. The heavy stuff eludes us

All I can do is laugh when I look at radar right now. The downpour that went to the north of Plainfield. There's a downpour just to my west in Somerset county. One just to my east in southern Union/eastern Middlesex, and a downpour just to my south in central Middlesex county. Downpours missing in every direction, and my garden won't get water yet again. Hope something else pops up later that hits us, but I doubt it with our ridiculously bad luck.

0.02" total here since June 11 (split between 2 different days...basically sprinkles).  None yesterday.  Seeing some cirrus blowoff from various storms elsewhere all morning and some forming towers to the south, but nice deep blue skies overhead.  The ground is pretty crunchy around here.

I have a good view of the Hudson from home. Amazes me how almost every storm in the summer you see people on jet skis. You think the dark gray clouds would be a decent warning. Just saw a group of 4 with cloud-to-ground lightning striking within 1/4 mile of their location.

Hail Size in Princeton?  I see water rescues Harrison NJ.

Pretty extreme rainfall rates in Harrison. Looks like they picked up 1.46 in just 14 minutes. Total of 2.79 in a little over an hour.

It's maddening. Another batch of showers/storms dropping down into northern Jersey now. Maybe they will hit us later, but I won't get my hopes up knowing our luck.

Yep. That’s the last batch  of the storms that will effect the area. Some of the short range models have it dumping on our area but take that fwiw.
