We are making our own Yore in CT this summer. Cherish this folks . What a summer

Congrats.  With the general tendency for increasing warmth year over year, you/we should have plenty of chances for summers of yore over the next few decades.

It’s already NNE. You in it .congrats and enjoy

Probably. It seems like once the sea ice volume and permafrost really started shitting the bed we have struggled getting cP airmasses down here in the heart of summer. Maybe it’s just a fluke, but we used to pull 30s and deep 40s in July and now it’s a struggle to even get into the 50s.

A cool decade would be funny once the new normals come out. Days and days of getting to troll BN temps.

I was looking at average July max temps at ORH the other day and was trying to look at the decadal averages to see where we would go and was a little surprised at them...

1980s: 79.8

1990s: 78.9

2000s: 78.1 (!!)

2010s: 81.2 (lol)

MVL has only been under 60F a total of 3 times in the past 16 days.... that is insane for mild nights.  Granted it's mostly 60-63 lows, but that's impressive for a radiator in July.

Tonight we probably get 50s with 63/61 right now, but even still, it'll just be upper 50s probably given the dews...and the rule that good rad cooling gets you to the mixed out afternoon dew point.  Probably puts us around 56-58F min tonight.

If the dews are high, our temps are going to have high departures. We usually have no problem getting 50s mins and occasional 40's following cold fronts.  Not this year.

Without some kind of super volcanism or extra terrestrial impact event nobody alive sees below normal decade in the next hundred years

Or...killing the thermohyaline circulation causing a rapid and pretty long lasting colding.
