You’re both ahead of me. No katydids or crickets here yet. I’m going comet hunting tonight and tomorrow (clear skies permitting), I’ll keep my ears open.

I haven't heard any crickets here yet but they'll probably be out imminently!

After the soup this morning with the overcast, as soon as the sun burst through the cloud deck (~1:30 pm), the furnace was lit (with a dp of 71 here earlier) and the oven is now on pre-heat cycle.  I did watch some scattered showers come across the area but I didn't get any of it.

Currently 88 (low was 70 this morning) with lots of cumulus.

Kinda surprise the radar isn't a little more active. Very muggy. I moved a couple things outside and I was a puddle.

90F / DP 72

Guidance nailed the dry frontal passage, who knows why there were 60% shower forecasts.

I barely tapped 90 (89.6) as a high at around 4 pm, so that starts the "heatwave clock" here.  Currently 85 with a dp of 69.  I haven't even stepped outside since early this morning.  Currently a hazy 85 and partly cloudy.

Not an inspiring forecast for the next week - coolest forecast high here is 90 next Friday. I see some steamy windows in your future!

Yeah I know. :yikes:  Current temp is a "cool" 73 with dews in the low 60s.  Won't last long though!

...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON SUNDAY TO 8 PM EDT
MONDAY...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to
  110 expected.

* WHERE...The urban corridor from Wilmington to Philadelphia to
  Trenton.

* WHEN...From noon Sunday to 8 PM EDT Monday. The hottest day is
expected to be Monday. The heat wave is likely to continue
  beyond Monday.

* IMPACTS...Extreme heat and humidity will significantly
increase the potential for heat related illnesses,
particularly for those working or participating in outdoor
  activities.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The dangerously hot conditions may continue
on Tuesday and Wednesday. The warning may need to be extended as
we get closer. Temperatures overnight are only expected to drop
into the mid 70s, so there will be little relief from the heat
  even through the overnight hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young
children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
under any circumstances.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when
possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational
Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent
rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone
overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

My NWS forecast has a forecast heat wave for Western Chester County. If this verifies it will be our 1st heat wave since July 1-3, 2018. We average a heat wave about every other year here in Chesco. Although, we have only had 2 heat waves in the last 8 years. Below are the last 10 heat waves.

July 1- 3, 2018 /July 5-7, 2012 / July 21-24, 2011 / July 4-7, 2010 / July 18-20, 2008 / June 7-10, 2008 / August 1-3, 2006 / August 12-14, 2005 / June 24-26, 2003 / August 1-5, 2002

Now we have a little battle between the WXSIM and the NWS forecast for my area with the WXSIM only getting us 1 "cheap" rounded 90 (which would be our 3rd cheap 90 this season) while the NWS gives us 4 straight 90+ days -  below are the forecast comparison - who will prevail?

Today - NWS 90 -  WXSIM 84.7 / Sunday - NWS 93 - WXSIM 89.4 / Monday NWS 94 - WXSIM 89.7 / Tuesday NWS 92 - WXSIM 86.4

Ended up topping out at 93 here yesterday and even though it wasn't a sauna, it was still blast-furnacey where you could feel the sun burn.  Low this morning was 72 but am off to the races now and at 85 here at post time (just before 8:30 am). Dews are in the upper 60s but will probably be on the rise by tomorrow.  Heard a cicada this morning and I know THEY know what is coming!
