Would be a fast but pretty significant thump of heavy, wet snow. I can't get a hold of how cold it is aloft. RUNNAWAYICEBERG
I never thought I’d ever see accum snows on my bday unless I moved north. This is surreal.

The 4 Seasons
Can’t believe what some models are putting out for May 9th. Snow all the way to the coast. It’s hard enough to get snow in mid March here, and we’re taking two months later. About 6 weeks from it’s the summer solstice, highest sun angle of the year... just amazing.
TauntonBlizzard2013
It would be pretty memorable to see accumulating snow here, I’ll say that

Damage In Tolland
Euro dropped a few inches interior areas SNE and ends as snow to coast. Seems like a 2-4” deal for areas that thump and cold enough
CoastalWx
Euro was much more tamer. Still likes western areas and NNE. Gotta still watch though.

weatherwiz
Looks like one of the biggest wild cards with this is the handling of the energy diving through the Plains and moving through the Ohio Valley. But just looking at the ulvl's (and on all models) it seems pretty prime for pretty significant cyclogenesis ...I guess it's just a matter of where this happens but I would wager at least parts of interior New England are going to get hit good and at least the NW Hills of CT. In cold weather, hummingbird bodies enter into an "energy-conservation mode called torpor," according to Oregon State ecologist Adam Hadley. Birds that stay north for the winter experience a nightly "mini-hibernation," in which their 107-degree body temperatures can plummet to 48 degrees. Heart rates also slow during torpor: The blue-throated hummingbird’s heart rate, for instance, drops from 1,260 beats per minute to 50 to 180 beats.

klw
So lets summarize where things are after the 06Z runs: GFS hits northern Virginia, NAM and Euro are SNE while the Canadian and Ukie are along the Canadian border. Is this right? Beautiful to see such model consensus 3 days out.
