Not saying it's correct but you have to wonder what they see to post this by 8:11PM tonight. We are supposed to update the maps anytime we adjust the forecast. That could be as simple as using current temps to tweak snowfall amounts.

Scott, I think we end up with a good surface to 850mb southeasterly inflow along the bent back warm front. I think we could enhance snowfall along this axis from CHH to BOS. moneypitmike
I'd love for the upper end of this to play out. Saturday Snow with rain likely in the morning, then a chance of rain in the afternoon. Patchy fog. Total snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches. Highs in the lower 40s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.

USCAPEWEATHERAF
Models are upping the ante with his three to five hour period of strong lift in the snow growth zone, snowfall rates as high as 2"/hour potentially. wxmanmitch
Quite cold here, 29.2° F with a fine, dry snow falling. QPF trends don't look that good here compared to 12z runs so we have the cold, but not the QPF. Jackpot probably ends up somewhere in the Becket, MA to Goshen, CT corridor.
CT Rain
FWIW, looks a bit warmer in the 925-850mb range over C CT west toward POU comparing HRRR 1 hour forecasts and the height of the melting layer on KOKX dual pol. Definitely not coming in on the cold side of things.
