weatherwiz
If that verifies later there are going to be significant issues to our southwest. Over 200 J of 3km CAPE with these dynamics. ORH_wxman
Lol, RAP has 85 knots over SE MA at 950mb for 21z today. Bob, Butterfish, ranude241, SouthCoastMA, and Tblizz's houses flying off the foundation if that verifies. 1 2
BrianW
6 pm Euro wind map. Looks like Block Island is going to get hit hard. Cape May/Jersey shore is going to get rocked.
weatherwiz
I think there is the chance someone along a line from SE CT to southern RI/southeast MA gusts to 80 later today. If convection is strong enough 85 is even a possibility.

ORH_wxman
NAM is "tamer" than the RAP...has merely 65-70 knots at 950mb over most of SE MA....though a small pocket of 75-80 knots or so tries to brush UUU-EWB over to the Cape. The 900mb level is just as impressive though. The difference is the NAM is trying to hold a weak inversion over interior SE MA between 900-950 while the RAP does not. dendrite
Already 91mph on MWN. Their big wind was an April event via SE winds. Maybe they can pull off a 140mph despite the meat of the LLJ being further south.

dendrite
HIE could be pretty nasty too with the SSE downslope off the Whites. They could easily clear out too with that llvl sinking air.

NorEastermass128
Winds starting to ramp up here. Thanks to all the Gypsy moths, lots of the oaks are ready to give. In fact, I have two massive dead oaks scheduled to be taken down this week or next. Fully anticipating some power issues locally. This should be fun with working from home with deadlines to meet. Maybe I’ll have to charge up and work from my car later?
butterfish55
Got gas for the Genny. Don't like to be in the bullseye for wind events, but they never seem to verify here, so.... we'll see, I guess. Hoping for no damage
