gravitylover
It bottomed at 30 but the spring sun is warming up the front of the house quickly now. You know when things warm quickly and pop and crackle? Yeah that's what it's doing.

bluewave
NYC is on track for only the 8th time not reaching 70 degrees in April. Pretty impressive that most of the other years were in the 1870’s and 1880’s. Just goes to show how strong this -EPO/-NAO pattern has been. Incredible. So much for that weekend warm up lol

So much for that weekend warm up lol The EPO reversal since the winter has been very impressive. The vortex cooled the NP SST’s over the winter. Now the warm blob south of Alaska is making another appearance with the strong ridge. There is also a sharp Atlantic SST gradient with cold to the north and warm south.

CPcantmeasuresnow
38°, high winds and sunny skies at high noon on April 22nd. I repeat where was this pattern January through March when I would have enjoyed the cold. Anything that flowered three weeks premature is pretty much dead from the last several days. JakkelWx
Can someone tell me why we're getting all this cold weather despite the EPO/NAO turning positive? Is it the PNA being positive? Are we gonna see a warm up once the PNA goes negative?
